I was just in Charleston, SC with my friend Nicole to celebrate her birthday. It was a fantastic long weekend. We walked, and ate, and drank, and walked, and ate, and went on a ghost tour, and drank. The food scene is incredible in Charleston, and the cocktails didn’t disappoint either. There was one cocktail that stood out among the rest, however– High Cotton’s 199. This beautiful drink is just pineapple-infused orange vodka, which is shaken hard, and poured into a chilled martini glass. The 199 is slightly sweet, very refreshing, and dangerously deceptive (it’s all alcohol after all). I looked at Nicole, while sipping my second, and said, “I’m making this at home”.
